Tetsu Pan iron frying pan with grilled fish and vegetables

Tetsu Pan is a thick iron frying pan made by skilled metalworkers in Ayase, Kanagawa. Its heavy 2.3 mm iron body stores plenty of heat, so it does not lose temperature when cold ingredients go in. Heat reaches the food instantly and evenly, sealing in juices and flavor, even with quick, high-heat cooking. It is ideal for steaks and other meat, eggs, and everyday dishes.

Iron that resists rust

The pan is finished with a nitriding black treatment: nitrogen is diffused into the surface of the iron, hardening it to about seven times the strength of untreated iron. Because it is a change to the iron itself and not a coating, it cannot peel and lasts for years. The surface resists rust, impact and wear, so you can use metal utensils without worrying about scratches.

There is no seasoning to do before first use and no need to oil it for storage: just wash it with mild detergent and let it dry. Its solid weight keeps it steady on the burner, and it can go from the gas or induction hob into the oven, over an open flame or charcoal, and even into the dishwasher.

Good for your body, too

Tests have confirmed that iron still dissolves into food after the nitriding treatment, so cooking with Tetsu Pan naturally adds a little iron to your diet, one of the classic benefits of an iron pan.
