TEORI GRIP bamboo trivet under a white pot

TEORI’s products bring out bamboo’s many qualities in different ways. In the GRIP trivet, it is the beauty of the grain and bamboo’s resistance to heat. Its rounded ring shape is pleasant to hold and so good-looking that you can leave it on the table between meals. A lovely small gift.

Why laminated bamboo?

Bamboo is remarkably strong. It resists bending and compression, hardly warps after it is worked, and is naturally antibacterial and deodorising, which is why it is used for things like library shelving. On its own, though, a bamboo cane can only be made into a limited range of things. TEORI takes the time to turn bamboo into laminated bamboo: strips are planed, dried and glued into solid blocks that can be shaped into almost anything. The end grain of many strips joined together creates a natural pattern that is a design in itself. Bamboo also grows back without replanting and is ready to use in three to five years, making it a truly sustainable material.
