Comfy Shoehorn: Wooden Shoehorn with Stand | SASAKI KOGEI Sale price€94,95

A hand-finished wooden shoehorn that welcomes you home

Birch shoehorn in a bright entryway

The entryway is the "face" of your home — the first place to greet guests and the last to see them off. For you, it's where you set off for a busy day and where you relax the moment you return. This shoehorn, carefully made by craftsmen at Sasaki Kogei in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, turns the everyday moment of putting on your shoes into something to look forward to.

Why you'll love it

  • Smooth, hand-finished wood — solid wood shaped by craftsmen, with a warm, silky surface that feels good in your hand.
  • No bending down — the regular size lets you slip your shoes on while standing.
  • Comes with its own stand — a matching stand of the same wood keeps it upright and tidy.
  • Two sizes, two woods — Regular or Short, in Hokkaido birch or walnut.
  • Made in Asahikawa, Hokkaido — by a woodworking studio founded in 1976.

Warmth and comfort at your front door

Shoehorn by the front door

Open the door and you are greeted by the gentle presence of solid wood. Pick it up, and the smooth surface created by the craftsmen's hands settles comfortably into your palm. When you leave, you can slip on your shoes in one easy motion; when you come home, the warmth of the wood greets you after a long day. With just this one piece, your entryway feels a little neater and your daily life a little nicer.

A matching stand that fits beautifully

Regular birch and walnut shoehorns with stands

Each shoehorn comes with a stand made from the same wood. With a moderate weight and a stable design, it doesn't tip over easily, and you simply slide the shoehorn back in after use. Its clean form doesn't get in the way of your interior and gives your entrance a dignified look.

Two sizes to suit your lifestyle

Regular and short birch shoehorns

  • Regular (approx. 77 cm / 30.3 in tall with stand) — a long design that lets you put on your shoes smartly without bending, easing strain on your back and knees every morning and evening.
  • Short (approx. 57 cm / 22.4 in tall with stand) — a handy size for those who sit or crouch to put on shoes, for compact apartment entryways, or for placing on a shelf or beside a stool. Also good if you'd rather the shoehorn not stand out.

Two woods to enjoy

Birch and walnut shoehorns side by side

  • Walnut (dark brown) — a deep, chic color that looks beautiful in a modern or calm entryway.
  • Hokkaido birch (natural, light brown) — bright, delicate grain with a clean feel that suits Scandinavian or natural interiors.

About Sasaki Kogei

Based in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Sasaki Kogei has made wooden household tools since its founding in 1976, committed to domestic production and to bringing out the grain and character of natural wood. Each piece is carefully finished by hand. "We live with nature. Our work lies between what human hands create and what nature creates. However much we refine our ideas and skills, every tree has its own quirks and expressions, and every finished piece is different." Under the motto "From Sasaki Kogei of Asahikawa to SASAKI of the world," the studio shares the appeal of Hokkaido craftsmanship in Japan and abroad.

Care

  • Natural wood can break under strong impact or excessive force. Use gently and avoid putting too much weight on it when putting on shoes.
  • For daily care, wipe off dust with a soft, dry cloth. For stains, wipe with a well-wrung damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
  • Due to the urethane finish, do not leave it in water or use thinner, alcohol or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the coating.
