Because the liquid dye permeates the fabric entirely, there is no "front" or "back"—the design remains vibrant and identical from either side, which makes it look stunning whether hanging on a wall or draped over a towel rack.

Care Instructions & The Beauty of Aging

• The First Washes: Some color bleeding may occur initially. Please hand wash separately in lukewarm water for the first 2-3 washes.

• Drying: Gently squeeze out excess water, smooth out any wrinkles, and air dry in the shade.

• Evolution of Texture: Chusen-dyed Tenugui are living textiles. With every wash and use, the colors will gently fade into a beautiful vintage look, and the cotton will become softer and more full of character.

• The Traditional "Raw" Edges (No Sewing Needed!): The top and bottom edges of the cloth are intentionally left raw and unhemmed. This traditional feature allows the fabric to dry in a flash and prevents bacteria from building up. While the edges will fray slightly at first, do not sew them. Simply trim the excess threads with scissors; over time, the fraying will stop naturally, creating a clean, fringed edge.
