About Coffee Kogu

Coffee Kogu (珈琲考具) is a coffee-tool brand from Shimomura Kihan, a housewares company in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata — Japan's best-known center of metalworking. The name joins ko (to think) and gu (tool): tools carefully thought through so you can brew better coffee. Many pieces are developed with feedback from professional baristas and make full use of the region's stainless-steel craftsmanship.

Fits almost any dripper, cup or server

Coffee Kogu's dripper stand works with drippers, cups and servers of many sizes and shapes. The top frame gradually widens from narrow to wide, so most drippers sit on it securely.

The lower tray adjusts in height — use a higher position for cups and a lower one for servers. The tray itself is a thoughtful touch: lift your cup away the moment brewing is done, and any last drops fall onto the tray. It's removable for washing.

Three cups in a third of the time

You can brew into three mugs at once, which is about a third of the time it would take to brew them one after another — perfect when serving guests. At first glance it's a simple, clean all-stainless stand, but in use you'll appreciate the maker's attention to every detail.
