Modern geta for everyday life
Many people think of geta as something to wear only with a yukata or kimono. But truly comfortable geta deserve a place in everyday life. COLOR GETA was born from a collaboration between mizutori, the geta brand of long-established footwear maker Mizutori Kogyo, and the creative company SELF: modern geta designed to suit grown men. They keep the virtues of traditional geta made from Shizuoka hinoki cypress, while evolving the comfort and design for the way we live today. They look just as good with fashion-forward outfits as with Japanese clothing, and once you know how comfortable they are, ordinary sandals may never feel the same.
More comfortable than you imagine
Put them on and you will be surprised how well they fit your feet. The genuine-leather thong strap is cushioned so it does not hurt even on long walks, and the curves of the wooden footbed are shaped for comfortable walking. The sole is a cushioned synthetic rubber, so there is no clattering “karan-koron” sound. They break every old idea that geta are hard to walk in or hurt your feet, and mizutori geta have many repeat customers at our shop.
Healthy from the feet up
Geta offer a different pleasure from shoes or sandals: you walk using your feet. Your weight moves naturally from heel to toe, so you use your whole foot, and because your toes lightly grip the strap as you walk, they work in a way ordinary shoes rarely ask of them, which also helps circulation in your toes.

Each pair of COLOR GETA is carefully finished by hand by a craftsman, and the maker can repair them, so you can wear them for years. A lovely gift as well as a treat for yourself.
About Mizutori Kogyo
Since its founding in 1937, Mizutori Kogyo has made footwear in Shizuoka City, where footwear is a local industry. Professionals in comfort, they combine long-held craft and know-how to create entirely new geta with the comfort of sandals or shoes and designs that fit modern fashion and lifestyles.

- M: for foot length approx. 25.0–25.5 cm (US men’s 7–7.5); width approx. 9.5 cm; weight approx. 520 g per pair
- L: for foot length approx. 26.0–26.5 cm (US men’s 8–8.5); width approx. 10.0 cm; weight approx. 570 g per pair
- LL: for foot length approx. 27.0–27.5 cm (US men’s 9–9.5); width approx. 10.5 cm; weight approx. 630 g per pair

- The base is natural wood, so grain and color vary from pair to pair. Heel height and shape may also vary slightly as each pair is handmade.
- Knocking against hard objects may chip or scratch the wood; please handle with care.
- Do not soak in water, and do not leave near fire or heaters for long periods.
