A fine, creamy head and an ice-cold sip

About Nousaku
Nousaku (能作) is a foundry founded in 1916 in Takaoka, Toyama, a city whose metal-casting tradition goes back some 400 years. It began by making Buddhist altar fittings and now uses the same casting skills to create tableware and interior pieces in brass and pure tin. Every design starts from the material itself, and each piece is finished by hand by Nousaku's craftspeople.
1. Pure tin
These beer cups are made of 100% tin, a metal with a surprisingly warm feel. Tin is said to purify water and make drinks taste mellower, and it conducts heat so well that cold drinks stay cold.
2. The cup makes the beer
Chill the cup in the fridge for a minute or two before pouring and your drink stays ice-cold. The subtly uneven inner surface builds a fine, creamy head, which makes these cups especially good for beer. You can enjoy the cool feel in your hand and the beads of condensation on the outside, and since no ice is needed, they are just as good for soft drinks or iced coffee.

3. A pair for gifting
Simple, high-performing and built to last. Tin resists oxidation and needs only washing with dish soap. Choose M or L size, and a paper gift box or a paulownia wood box for a special occasion.

Care
- Tin is a soft metal. Avoid repeatedly applying force to the same spot.
- Tin has a low melting point: do not use over a direct flame, in the microwave, dishwasher or dryer.
- Do not put it in the freezer. Extreme cold can cause "tin pest" (discoloration and deformation).
- Wash with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Do not scrub with abrasive pads or cleanser.
- If the shine dulls, polish it with metal polish, toothpaste or baking soda.
