About EAtoCO
EAtoCO (EAトCO, pronounced "ii-toko," a play on "a good spot") is a kitchen-tool brand from Yoshikawa Co., Ltd. in Sanjo, Niigata, part of Tsubame-Sanjo, Japan's best-known center of metalworking. The name joins EAT and COOK: tools designed to move freely between the kitchen and the dining table, made in Japan with the precision the region is known for.
1. A precise grip
What matters most in tongs is that they are comfortable to hold and that the tips meet well. Tongs that feel slightly off usually have tips that do not quite line up. Hasam is made with Tsubame-Sanjo precision, so the tips close cleanly every time.
2. Slits and slim tips
Hasam was designed around one scene: lifting olives out of a jar. Slits let the brine drain away, and the tongs are smaller than usual so they fit into narrow jars. Of course, they work as everyday all-purpose tongs too.
