"Somehow, it tastes better from tin"

About Osaka Suzuki
Osaka Suzuki (大阪錫器) was founded in Osaka in 1949 and today produces nearly all of Osaka Naniwa Suzuki (Osaka tinware), a designated Traditional Craft of Japan with more than 300 years of history. Its craftspeople, including nationally certified traditional craftsmen, cast, turn and finish every piece by hand.
1. Rikka: a hammered texture like snowflakes
Rikka (六花, "six flowers") is a poetic Japanese word for snowflakes. The whole surface is hand-hammered with tsuchime marks that catch the light like falling snow.

2. Cold in an instant
Tin conducts heat so well that you don't need to chill the tumbler first: pour in cold beer and it turns cold within moments, with droplets forming on the surface.

3. A fine, creamy head
The inside is also hammered, which creates fine, creamy foam, like beer poured by an expert.

4. A smooth, polished rim
The craftsmen polish the rim by hand for a gentle feel on the lips. Lovely for soft drinks as well as beer and sake.

5. Mellower flavor
Tin has long been prized for purifying water: in old China it was sunk into wells. It brings out the flavor of drinks and makes them taste rounder.

Ready to give
Every piece comes in a paulownia wood (kiri) box, the traditional Japanese gift box. Handmade by traditional craftspeople and presented in wood, Osaka Suzuki tinware is a long-time favorite for birthdays, retirements, weddings and the 10th wedding anniversary (the "tin anniversary").
Choose Single for one tumbler in its own box, or Pair for two tumblers of the same size in a pair box.
