Why They Are So Comfortable

The room slippers use hinoki cypress from Shizuoka. It's a simple yet lovely design that makes you want to wear them outside too.

The bottom uses cushioning material, so there's no worry about noise or damaging the floor. The upper part uses soft synthetic leather, making it comfortable. The warm touch of domestic hinoki cypress, and the "Two-Piece" design with two pieces of hinoki connected by elastic material, gives an unprecedented comfortable fit. ■ Reason for Using Shizuoka Hinoki Cypress

Currently, forests in Japan are deteriorating. Probably more than most people imagine. This could potentially lead to major disasters. Why are they deteriorating? Because they are "not being used." Trees aren't cut, so they aren't maintained. There are not enough people to maintain them. Even those who engage in forestry can't make enough profit to continue. There is only one solution: "Use domestic wood."

After witnessing this reality, Mizutori Industries uses local Shizuoka "hinoki" in various products out of a desire to "give back even a little." With forests covering 65% of Shizuoka Prefecture's land area, their importance is significant. Cut mature trees and use them. Then plant young trees. Young trees absorb a lot of CO2. Planned cutting and afforestation protects the mountain ecosystem and leads to revitalization.

Forest issues are a major problem throughout Japan. Mizutori Industries uses Shizuoka hinoki cypress to contribute, even a little, starting from their local area.

• As the wooden base is natural wood, the grain and color vary for each piece.
• Due to hand carving, the heel height may slightly differ.
• As it's natural wood, it may get scratched if hit against hard objects, so please use with care.
• In case of chipping in the wooden base, please contact your nearest shoe repair shop or our store.
