The moon with its waxing and waning - people have felt a mystical power in the moon since ancient times. That remains unchanged even today. In the chopstick rest "Moon," we've made the crescent shape of the waxing and waning moon into a chopstick rest using the traditional casting techniques of Takaoka. Apart from the gold leaf on the surface, it is made of 100% tin.
The sophisticated shape provides stability and comfort when placing chopsticks. Please use it as a chopstick rest to add elegance to your daily dining table or when entertaining guests.
Kanazawa Gold Leaf
99% of Japan's gold leaf is produced in Kanazawa in the Hokuriku region. The gold leaf applied to the surface of the "Moon" chopstick rest also uses traditional gold leaf from Kanazawa. Its brilliance makes your dining table special.
The golden color of the gold leaf also makes the "Moon" chopstick rest shine even more moon-like.
■ Usage Precautions
Due to its low melting point, do not place over direct flame. It cannot be used in microwave ovens. Do not place in the freezer as it may cause tin pest (discoloration and deformation of tin).
■ Maintenance
After use, wash with kitchen detergent (neutral) using a soft cloth or sponge, just like other tableware. Do not scrub with hard brushes. Also, do not polish with cleanser as it is soft and easily scratched. When the luster becomes dull, it can be restored by polishing with commercially available metal polish, toothpaste, or baking soda.
