About Coffee Kogu

Coffee Kogu (珈琲考具) is a coffee-tool brand from Shimomura Kihan, a housewares company in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata — Japan's best-known center of metalworking. The name joins ko (to think) and gu (tool): tools carefully thought through so you can brew better coffee. Many pieces are developed with feedback from professional baristas and make full use of the region's stainless-steel craftsmanship.

Fluffy milk foam made easy

Brewing coffee at home is easy — but how do you make the soft, fluffy milk of a café latte? Shake de Latte is a simple tool that lets you make café-style milk foam without any machine.

  1. Pour in cold milk.
  2. Set the mesh rod inside.
  3. Shake for about 20 seconds.
  4. Your fluffy, café-style milk foam is ready.
  5. Pour it into your coffee — and enjoy your latte.
