About Coffee Kogu

Coffee Kogu (珈琲考具) is a coffee-tool brand from Shimomura Kihan, a housewares company in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata — Japan's best-known center of metalworking. The name joins ko (to think) and gu (tool): tools carefully thought through so you can brew better coffee. Many pieces are developed with feedback from professional baristas and make full use of the region's stainless-steel craftsmanship.

Three measures to choose from

Consistent coffee starts with measuring. These stainless steel measures from Tsubame-Sanjo are simple, sturdy and easy to keep clean.

• 10g Measure – one level scoop holds about 10 g of ground coffee, the standard amount for one cup.
• 2-Cup Measure – a double measure for brewing two cups at once.
• Scoop Measure – a long-handled scoop that reaches easily into canisters and coffee bags.
