"TOKI": Forgetting Time While Enjoying Tea

In the craftsman's world, the time spent enjoying tea is called "tokiwasure" (forgetting time). TOKI from JINSUI was created to enjoy such special "time" (TOKI) where you forget time and then remember it.

Removing Tea's Astringency for More Aromatic Tea

TOKI teapots are made from Tokoname ware. Tokoname ware teapots have the property of removing impurities contained in water and absorbing the astringency in tea. Therefore, they are said to have the effect of making tea taste smoother.

Another reason why tea from Tokoname ware teapots is considered delicious is "lid fitting."

"Lid fitting" is a manufacturing process where the lid and body are ground together to make them adhere closely. Through this special technique, craftsmen ensure that the lid and body fit perfectly. Therefore, if the combination changes, they won't match, and it would no longer be "Tokoname ware." This process increases the airtightness inside the teapot, allowing the tea leaves to steep sufficiently, resulting in a delicious, aromatic, and wonderful teatime.

Stylish Colors Suitable for Afternoon Tea

Tokoname ware traditionally uses red clay called "shudei" as its raw material, characteristically resulting in a vermilion finish. JINSUI has retained the good points of Tokoname ware while adding design elements. Instead of focusing on vermilion, they use calming colors, creating the stylish TOKI teapot that even young people unfamiliar with teapots would naturally want to use for their afternoon tea.
